Taxonomy Kiener (1838) included Chemnitz (1788), pl. 165, figs. 1587-1588 in his concept of Delphinula laevis. The Chemnitz figures are the basis of Turbo niveus Gmelin, 1791, the type species of Tubiola A. Adams, but A. Adams (1863) when he named Tubiola considered Kiener's species to be a Cyclostrema, presumably considering that Kiener's figures did not match Chemnitz's. [details]
