Homonymy Replacement name for Paludina angulifera "de Serres, 1853", non Dunker, 1853. Wenz (1928) emphasized that the latter work was published earlier. However, de Serres' name appeared already in Serres (1851). Viviparus serresi is thus a junior objective synonym of Viviparus anguliferus (Serres, 1851). Anyway, no homonymy exists at present. Dunker introduced his name as Hydrobia angulifera. Speyer (1870) considered the species to belong in Paludina, but according to Janssen (2007) it is a Sellia. [details]
