Nomenclature Willmann (1981) ranked Viviparus forbesi Tournouër, 1875, Viviparus gorceixi Tournouër, 1875 and Viviparus trochlearis Tournouër, 1875 as subspecies of Viviparus brevis Tournouër, 1876. However, the latter was described later than the other three (which were introduced in the same publication). Thus, one of the three names takes precedence, but priority has not yet been established - the action of a First Reviser is required. [details]
