Type locality Originally listed from multiple localities/strata: Late Miocene: Between Ahmetçe (?) and Narlı ("Entre Ahmedlu et Narlu"), Balikesir, between Sarayköy and Denizli, in the valley of the Büyük Menderes river ("Entre Saraikoi et Dénizlu (vallée du Méandre)"), Denizli, and Sultanhanı ("Soultankhan"), Aksaray; Pliocene: between Tefenni and Kemer ("entre Téfénu et Kémer"), Antalya, and south beach of Lake Burdur ("plage méridionale du lac Bouldour (Pisidie)"), Burdur; late Pliocene to early Pleistocene: between Kıreli and Yunuslar ("entre Kérélu et Yaluzlar, au N.-E. du lac Beischehr"), Konya; all Turkey. The one from Lake Burdur contains the lectotype. [details]
