Synonymy Not a nomen nudum in Braun in Walchner (1851) as claimed by Wenz (1923). Pupa cryptodus Sandberger, 1858 is to be considered a junior synonym of this species because Sandberger listed Braun's record in synonymy (same as Wenz) and attributed the authority to Braun. Since it is unclear whether both species were based on the same type material, they cannot be regarded as objective synonyms at present. [details]
