Status Validity and authorship unclear: probably not available from Andrusov (1896, not available to us). Andrusov (1918) gives a "M. hellespontica n. sp." as "not yet described" from Gelibolu, Turkey. Probably formally introduced in Livental (1931, there as "Submonodacna hellespontica Andrus."), who however listed also Cardium pleistopleura Davitashvili, 1930 in synonymy. Consequently, Nevesskaja et al. (2001) listed M. hellespontica as a synonym of Submonodacna pleistopleurum. [details]
