Status Considered as a doubtful taxon with uncertain placement (incertae sedis) by Morris et al. (1991), but as valid genus by Pojeta et al. (1986) and Hoare (1993). González (1994) discussed previously proposed synonymy with Sanguinolites, but apparently he followed Pojeta et al. (1986) in considering both as distinct genera. [details]
