Biology Type of larval development: direct (non planktotrophic) denoted by paucispiral protoconch. [details]Diagnosis Shell 1.4 to 1.6 mm high, with protoconch of 1.25 whorl and teleoconch of 2.5 to 3.0 whorls. Protoconch covered with minute, indistinct granules in spiral bands, hardly appreciable under the optical microscope; Teleoconch with a sculpture of faint axial wrinkles, and shallow spiral furrows demarcating broad, flat spiral cords on the abapical part, separated by broad flat surfaces on the adapical part of whorls; a more well-marked furrow running subsuturally. Outer lip with a thin edge, not thickened; internally smooth. Inner lip thin, bordering a narrow umbilicus. Shell entirely white, translucent.
This species resembles in general aspect Crisilla marioni Fasulo and Gaglini, 1987, a shallow water species living in bioclastic rubble in some parts of the Mediterranean. It also resembles superficially Gofasia josephinae Bouchet & Warén, 1993, with which it lives sympatrically on Josephine seamount, but differs in having a stouter profile and in the microsculpture of open furrows instead of rows of pores.
