Status Introduced as replacement name for Carychium costulatum Sandberger, 1862, non Hutton. Latter name however is a manuscript name that appeared only in Benson (1849) as Diplommatina costulata. Since both species are not considered to belong in the same genus, no secondary homonymy exists and Carychium eurabdium is a junior objective synonym of Carychiopsina costulata. See also Carychiopsis schwageri hochheimensis Wenz, 1923 (another replacement name). [details]
