Authority Montagu treated in 1803 only M. stultorum and in 1808 he described a species M. cinera that had a lot of resemblance with the first. Nowadays M. cinera is treated as a subspecies of M. corallina according to Janssen et al. (1984). [details]Publication date The correct date of publication is 1808 and not 1803 as Janssen et al.
