Spelling The original spelling from Sinzov (1876) is "Döngingii". That article is, however, hardly known or at least hardly referred to in the literature. Sinzov (1877), when properly describing the species in a forthcoming article, used a different spelling, "Döngingki". This name was incorrectly amended ("doengingki") by Nevesskaja et al. (1993). Since no etymology was ever given, the correct spelling is dongingii.
