Synonymy Nevesskaja et al. (1997) listed this species as well as Cardium praehyrcania Cheltsov, 1965 in synonymy of Raricardium konjuschewskii (К. Ali-Zade, 1932). However, it is unclear whether they considered the three species indeed synonymous or whether they considered praehyrcania Cheltsov = praehyrcanicum Ali-Zade and overlooked the fact that both species are actually different and only accidentally nearly homonyms. Since there is no discussion in Nevesskaja et al. (1997), the synonymy of Cardium praehyrcanicum A. A. Ali-Zade, 1967 remains uncertain.
