Synonymy Ali-Zade (1936) listed Limnocardium bogatschovi K. Ali-Zade, 1932 in the synonymy of this species, arguing that "in light of the fact that there is already Cardium bogatschovi [Kolesnikov, 1929] in the literature and that the concept of Limnocardium is not particularly elaborated, unlike Cardium, in order to avoid confusion, my preference is to change the species and generic name, which is allowed according to the rules of the international zoological nomenclature." Despite this statement - which is unfortunately incorrect - the name Cardium sulinii is invalid and an objective junior synonym of Limnocardium bogatschovi K. Ali-Zade, 1932. [details]
