Authority The authority of the taxon is usually given as "Kilka, 1891", but the name is not available from that work. Klika introduced the taxon as "[Helix osculum Thomae] Mut. labiata n.". Mutations are not governed by the Code (see also Art. 45.6). Moreover, the name is not deemed to be subspecific because Klika clearly differentiated between "varieties" and "mutations". The first to validly introduce it as species-group was Wenz (1911).Harzhauser et al. (2014) considered Helix osculum var. tenuis Klika, 1891 a synonym of "labiata Klika" and gave priority to the latter name, which is however not available from Klika (1891). Thus, tenuis Klika, 1891 takes precedence over labiata Wenz, 1911. [details]
